How to get PR in Denmark after
The advanced education universities of Denmark allow students to search for placements. The residence permit will remain valid for the next six months after the student completes their study. The residence permit can be extended further.
Students completing their studies from Denmark University can apply for permanent residency after four years of residence in Denmark if they meet the criteria mentioned below:
1) Full-time work experience in each of the last 4 years;
2) If they pass the Danish language exam, PD3;
3) The student has to demonstrate an income of 290,000 kroner in each of the last two years;
4) Pass an active citizenship exam.
The other way of applying for permanent residency is to proceed after residing for eight years in Denmark. Here, the student must have been in full-time work for 3.5 years during the last 4 years, plus fulfil 2 of the above 4 requirements. There must not be a 6-month continuous break in full-time work: this restricts the application.
Work and study in Denmark
Students have to apply for a permit if they want to work while studying. The allowance for international students to work in Denmark is 20 hours per week. Students should not exceed this limit.
The students have to pay income taxes soon as they start working. The tax will be based on the student’s annual income. The average student pay in Denmark is around 10-12 EUR.
Denmark offers a large number of career options for international students. Students can work in hotels, restaurants, cafes as well as in telemarketing and newspaper distribution.
